Pruning Shears - lilly - 04-09-2008 Are there any pruning shears available on the market for a gardener with arthritic hands? I recently had surgery on my hand and have not recovered the strength needed to use my regular shears. Is there a shear, preferably bypass, that mechanically will do half of the work? Lilly Re: Pruning Shears - Kathleen_A - 04-12-2008 Hi Lilly, I have a pair of Florian shears that work great. They are rachet action making the shears very easy to use. I periodically get arthritic type pains in my hands and this tool has been wonderful. I have had the same pair for over ten years! A pair runs about $30 but are well worth the price.
