I had four kinds of butterflies in my garden this year....a Lorquin's Admiral, Western Swallowtail's, Painted Lady, and everpresent Cabbage Whites. I used a pottery dish, filled it with some steer manuer and water...added an orange slice and put it in the bright sun near some flat rocks so they could warm themselves and get a drink too ( took the idea from the GG book on attracting butterflies). Sadly, none of them visited my "puddle" for a drink. Any ideas as to how to attact them for next year?
